Pat, I just finished Picara and it is the first of your books that I have read.  Paula  was the person who told me about you and although I couldn’t come to your last book signing, my daughter Lindsay did. Thank you for signing all of the books. I loved Picara. I couldn’t put it down so it didn’t take me long to finish. A great story, so real especially of that time.  I have already passed it on to another book lover and will continue to do so. I can’t wait to read the other four that I ordered.. Good luck to you and keep on writing!!

Pat : I just finished  “Picara” and enjoyed it very much. It is a very well written good story and I could visualize the characters and the scenes . I hope it does well. Good luck. I liked the ending.  Very interesting insight into another way of life. Pat Nevins

Reading the book brought back lots of memories of friends I had from Jax that were heavy into the drug scene (I tagged along with my boyfriend and his sister, an older girl from GCS that was dating the road manager for Lynyrd Skynyrd, then met some friends my age hanging out there) & I'm grateful I didn't get caught up in, but I hung out with them a lot until I went away to college.

Thanks for the good read - now I have to go find another book by you to read.

I just got "From May to December" yesterday & have just finished it today...I loved it. I've now ordered your other 3 from Amazon...
I could really identify with the writing workshop in Prison as I have faciliated women's writing groups in Glasgow (with Survivor's Poetry Scotland-which no longer exists) and within my work in a Refuge (for women affected by domestic abuse). I am a Counsellor in one (for women in the community who have experienced domestic violence; including child sexual abuse & rape).
Anyway -don't usually write to authors like this but felt a real connection...
Be well

I've read all of your books and thoroughly appreciate each one of them.  I stumbled across Sweet Fire one day a few months ago while trawling through the Serpent's Tail website and it looked extremely interesting.  I ordered it, and believe you me, from the first chapter of that novel I've been hooked on your books.  The unflinching honesty and precision of your writing and your ability to portray people in a way that invites compassion rather than condemnation is absolutely brilliant and has changed the way I view prisons and those imprisoned within them.
I'm hoping you'll be publishing another novel very soon and that I'll be able to order it here in England when it'is released.
Many thanks from London,
Heidi

Pat, I hope you'll have another book out soon.  You write just what I want
to read. . . .Your books are great and eventually they will get the recognition they deserve (and one day
I'll be buying a ticket to see a treatment of one of your beautiful
stories at a movie theater.  Your writing is incredibly cinematic).
